WHAT TYPE OF WINDOW TREATMENT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

When it comes to selecting the right window treatment for your home or office, there are a lot of factors to consider. The first is to consider is the room and what type of treatment will serve the best purpose. Draperies are great for bedrooms and areas with sliding doors, Roller and cellular shades are great for living rooms, while Roman shades add a touch of elegance to your dining room. Bravo AV works with the top manufacturers in the industry, so we have a wide variety of options available. Whether you're looking for roller shades, cellular shades, Roman shades, draperies, or something else entirely, we can help you find the perfect solution. Here are some of the more popular styles

ROLLER

Roller shades can be pulled down from the top to cover the entire opening. They are typically made from a piece of fabric or material that is attached to a roller mechanism, which allows them to be easily raised and lowered as needed.

CELLULAR

These cells work to trap air and create a layer of insulation, making them a great choice for both energy efficiency and privacy.

Dual roller shades are a type of window treatment that can provide both privacy and light control in a single solution. These shades feature two layers of fabric that are operated independently, allowing you to adjust the level of light and privacy as needed.  When planning for dual roller shades, you'll need to decide on the fabric type and color, as well as the opacity level of each shade. Usually one shade fabric is transparent and the second is a black-out material, you can read more about fabric types below.

WHAT TYPE FABRIC ARE YOU CONSIDERING FOR YOUR WINDOW TREATMENTS?

Bravo AV has a massive library of shade fabrics, ranging from transparent to blackout. We have the perfect fabric for any application, whether you need to block out the sun completely, just reduce the glare or to create some privacy. With so many options to choose from, we are sure to have the perfect solution for your needs. Here are the most popular fabrics.

Transparent-Shade-Fabric-store-nj.fw.png

TRANSPARENT

One of the most popular window treatment fabrics is transparent . They are made of materials that allow light to pass through them. This makes them ideal for use in areas where privacy is not a concern, such as in offices or homes. The most common type of transparent fabric is made from polyester, which is a synthetic fiber that is both durable and lightweight. They are also available in a variety of patterns and colors, making them easy to match your individual taste and interior décor.

Translucent-light-Filtering-Shade-Fabric-store-nj.fw.png

TRANSLUCENT

Translucent fabrics transmit diffused light and enhance privacy. The exterior view is only visible as silhouettes and shadows. These fabrics have an openness factor between 1-10%. If you are looking for a fabric that will provide you with privacy while still allowing some light to enter the room, then a translucent fabric is a good option. These window treatment materials are often used in bedrooms or bathrooms where privacy is desired but natural light is still desired.

BLACKOUT

Blackout fabrics are designed to provide advanced light blockage and privacy. They are often used with "channels" in bedrooms and home theaters, where light control is essential. The edges of the shade ride within the channels that are attached to the wall, completely sealing out any light.  Some are treated with a special coating to reflect heat, making them ideal for hotter climates. Cellular shades can also provide an excellent room darkening solution with energy saving benefits.

How Will Your Window Treamentts be powered

HOW WILL THEY BE POWERED

Motorized Shades are one of the most popular products in today's smart home. There is a quiet elegance about them, being able to adjust your view or eliminating annoying sun glare at the touch of a button or complete privacy with a swipe, but how are they powered? Today Bravo AV offers hard wired, battery powered and recently started testing the up and coming, solar powered solutions. Here is a summary of each with the pros and cons you should consider for each.

Wired Motorized Blinds

Motorized shades that require wires for power and control are perfect if your home has already been pre-wired for smart devices. However, if you do not have existing wires, this means you will need to hire a licensed and insured contractor to run proprietary wires throughout your home. As you can imagine this is more expensive and time consuming process because it involves cutting into sheetrock, paint, and wallpaper. If your considering this option, Bravo AV has upgraded many homes, including historical ones, with wired shading and smart lighting solutions. Contact us for a free consult.

Battery-Operated Motorization is available for most window treatments, so no matter what you're looking for, we can help you find a wireless solution as well. This eliminates having to run power and control wires throughout your home. The only downside is that you'll need to replace the batteries periodically. However, some Lutron battery operated shades can last 4-5 years without a battery change, (one up and one down per day). Not all shades types and sizes are available with battery power.

Solar Powered Motorized blinds are an up and coming solution. Due to the solar movement many manufacturers are investing in solar powered technology. If you're looking for an energy-efficient way to power your motorized blinds and draperies, solar power may be the answer, in the future. Because the technology is so new Bravo AV is watching from the sidelines and waiting for our trusted existing shade partners. We will announce when are completely confident with a dependable solution that will also help reduce your carbon footprint. For now we know they are powered by a small solar panel that collects energy from the sun. This energy is then stored in a long-life battery and available day or night  to energize the motor. So it is important to have  a sufficient amount of sun where the solar panels are located.

Like most advanced technology they will also be more of an investment when compared to their wired and battery powered counter parts.

So whether your planning to build your dream home or your already living in it, Bravo AV can help you with an automated shade solution.

Pros - Cons

Battery Powered Shades are a wireless solution which is a much easier install but you will need to change the batteries. Most shade manufacturers send an alert and give plenty of warming in advance.

Wired shades are powered by your home electrical circuits and will not require you to monitor batteries but you will need a dedicated wire run to each individual window. Some shades require multiple wires for power and control.

Sola powered shades are wireless and will not need batteries to be replaced but need enough sunlight to be effective.

HOW WILL THEY BE CONTROLLED?

Smart-Shades-Store-NJ.fw.png

MOTORIZED

If you have trouble reaching your window shades, or if they're mounted high, motorized blinds can be a great solution. With the press of a button, they can go up and down with ease. Plus, they add an extra element of sophistication to your home.

Smart-Shades-Store-NJ.fw.png

SMART

Smart shades are not only motorized but can also be programmed to go up and down to a specific time you want or according to the sun, like raising at sunrise or closing automatically at sunset. This saves you time and provides even more security for your home.
