Home Theater Design Showcase Mendham, Morris County, NJ.

Bravo AV was asked to provide a escape space for the entire family to relax and enjoy immersive entertainment together in their Mendham NJ Home.

The Challenge

Bravo AV was engaged to upgrade an existing home theater space for the new owner of a beautiful Mendham home. The homeowner wished to create a high-performance home theater for himself and his family—a dedicated space where their busy family could gather and decompress, away from the distractions of their fast-paced, demanding schedules. The upgrade was straightforward for Bravo AV as the room had good ceiling height and risers for three rows of seating were already built with an AV closet directly behind the room.

Bravo AV Solution

Bravo AV is committed to delivering the optimal solution for every project. The previous homeowner left behind the speakers but had removed all the electronics. BRAVO AV estimated the previous theater was 10 to 15 years old based on the—by current standards—small screen and use of a non-acoustically transparent screen.

The Result

Bravo AV delivered a premium home theater experience: cinema-quality video with critical music listening capability and a clean, classic aesthetic. Every seat is the best seat in the house

The Details

Video

On the video side, BRAVO AV maximized the screen size to 150 inches while changing from 1:1.78 (TV format) to 1:2.40 (cinemascope) aspect ratio. This yielded a dramatic presentation improvement versus the older smaller screen. Naturally, BRAVO AV ensured proper sight lines for people sitting in all three rows. Now, the screen itself appears to float on the black front wall, providing an immersive, visually clean experience for the viewer.

Audio

On the audio side, BRAVO AV executed several improvements:

1. Migrated from a traditional surround-sound speaker configuration to an Atmos configuration.

2. Relocated the Left, Center and Right (LCR) speakers behind an acoustically transparent screen. This move delivered the biggest design improvement for the audio presentation in that, previously, the LCR speakers were below the screen.

3. Upgraded the speaker system to Focal with JL subwoofers

4. Combined a Storm AV processor with Parasound Halo Series amps to effortlessly drive the new system

5. Installed a computer-designed acoustical treatment solution on the walls

The Look

Elegant columns and a coffered ceiling along with a paint scheme and new carpet completed the room transformation.
