About Tom Curnin
In 2003, Tom turned his lifelong audiophile passion into a new career. Together with an electrical contractor as a partner, he started a company whose primary focus was on whole house automation for large custom homes. In 2006, Tom struck out on his own and started BravoAV Consulting, an installer of integrated electronic systems for both large and small projects, including home theater, dedicated listening room, media rooms, whole-house audio, lighting systems, computer networks and phone systems. Driven by his passion for spectacular audio and video, Tom is committed to providing well designed and easy to operate automation systems in conjunction with the highest level of customer service.
Before working in the audiovisual industry, Tom was the managing partner of The Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey for nine years. The Inn is an independent boutique hotel with 102 guest rooms and 18 banquet and meeting rooms, and an historic restaurant and pub call the Grain House. A start-up operation in 1994, after an extensive two year expansion and renovation, a gorgeous American Country Inn was reborn.
Before the hospitality industry, Tom worked on Wall Street for twelve years with such firms as E. F. Hutton, DLJ and Lehman Brothers. He worked as a mortgage bond trader and traded adjustable rate securities through the entire credit spectrum from non-rated to AAA.
Tom received a BS degree with a double major in Finance and Information Systems from the University of Colorado, where he graduated with honors in 1983, and an MBA in Finance from NYU in 1987.
